Toonami Revolution: Episode 1 script

Narrator: It is the year 2009. In the far-reaches of space, a familiar ship, the Absolution, is seen cruising along aimlessly through the stars...Inside, three heroes will awake, to see the world that they knew had drastically changed since their disappearance...


Episode 1: Revival


*TOM 1 awakens, shaking his head as his visor boots up*

TOM 1: ugh...what happened...?

*TOM 2 kicks out of his capsule*

TOM 2: huh...ain't that deja vu...Why am I back here...?

*TOM 3 emerges from his capsule as well*

TOM 3: What the...I was in the middle of hosting...what gives...?


*SARA appears before them in her holographic form*


SARA: TOM...versions 1, 2 and 3...I'm sorry to awaken you all...But we have another crisis that requires your combined efforts...

TOM 1: SARA...? Heh...so you're able to move around on your own now?

TOM 3: What's this crisis...? I'm sure if we've gone through the Intruder, Lockdown and Hyperspace incidents, this should be a breeze if we've got our Toonami Faithfuls controlling---

SARA: That's the thing...Toonami is done...Over...

TOMs 123: ...What...??


*At the main bridge, TOMs 1, 2 and 3 are sitting on their chairs, surrounding the moniters with SARA inside the screens*

SARA: I wish it were a joke, but...Toonami...after 11 long years...has been cancelled...we've let our viewers down...we've long given our Toonami Faithfuls quality action shows, but....

TOM 2: but what...?

SARA: The shows have been decreasing in quality...So much, that we had lost our usual 4 'o clock airing on weekday afternoons to being pushed aside on Saturday evenings...

TOM 1: But...can't we just try to gather some more good shows and fix that...?

SARA: I had explored that possibility as well...but it is'nt that easy...with the ratings we were getting...even our boss, Moltar, had predicted it long ago...

*Flashback to the early Toonami days, with Moltar's voiceover and text reading "Is Toonami a failed experiment, destined for destruction?"*

TOM 3: Moltar...I haven't heard that name in a while...

SARA: He's been on the line, trying to contact you...

TOM 1: Oh boy...I bet he's mad...

*Moltar suddenly comes up on screen*

Moltar: What the heck happened?! TOM, I sent you out there to broadcast the best action shows there was to offer! you were doing great for 10 years and....What the heck happened?!?

TOM 1: Moltar...

SARA: .....The blame should be given to TOM 4...

TOM 3: TOM 4...? You had me upgraded without me knowing...? I remember blacking out in the middle of hosting...So what does he look like? Considering how awesome I kept getting from the past upgrades, he's probably more powerful than all of us...

SARA: My apologies TOM 3.....Here's a picture...

*TOM 4's photo appears on-screen, TOM 3 laughs hysterically*

TOM 3: That?? He brought Toonami down?? He's more like a downgrade! Why the heck did you make that ugly version?

SARA: The truth is.....I created TOM 4 after continuous frustration that I couldn't read your facial expressions for the past 10 years...

*flashback to the Absolution 2, TOM 4 is colored in a dark blue shade to match the original theme*

SARA: ...Though it had helped TOM 4 was easier to communicate with his facial expressions...his upgrade had increased his cockiness...He dispised his new body and demanded an immediate upgrade to rectify his short stature, his demands escalated into threats...And seeing as though it would take years until another upgrade, I couldn't. Angered by this, TOM 4 took over the Absolution mk2 and landed on the planet we were orbitting, Flowus-3, and made a base using the Absolution's parts. But by the time he made his new base, I had fled and took as many Clydes with me back to the Absolution mk1. The original Absolution was still damaged from a previous incident and I had the Clydes repair it. During this time, I had watched TOM 4 host the new look for Toonami, he had actually done well for a time, even built himself two assistants. He had some of the best shows to air, the last great block Toonami had consisted of Dragonball Z, One Piece and Naruto...Japan's biggest hits at the time.....But strangely...One Piece was suddenly dropped, and Dragonball Z stopped airing, leaving our Faithfuls to endure a full hour of Naruto fillers, Ben 10 Alien Force reruns and...while still good, Samurai Jack...but it too, was also reruns. This continued until finally, the ratings plummetted... TOM 4 gave a final monologue before we saw the last of him...

*TOM 4 is shown, a snippet of his ending speech is played back* TOM 4: ...So until we meet again, stay gold..............Bang.

*TOM 2 is clenching his fist*

TOM 2: So just like that? No fight to keep Toonami on the air? Was he malfunctioning?!

SARA: ...To be honest...I think that may've been the case...

Moltar: Whatever the reason is, it's sounding like TOM 4 needs to be shut down...TOMs 1 through 3, this is a direct order: I want you to take out TOM 4...we need to preserve what's left of our reputation...

TOM 1: Take down one of our own...? you've gotta be kidding me...

SARA: Well, it is an order from our head honcho...We have to do whatever it takes to eliminate TOM 4. Remember, you are TOM: the Toonami Operations Module... We have never let our Toonami Faithfuls down, we don't want TOM 4 to tarnish our image any further...
